The online archives now have a physical counterpart! We are proud to announce the establishment of a special collection, the Italian Archives of San Diego, at UCSD Mandeville Special Collections Library. Our community now has a physical locale in which to document and preserve its collective history.

ENDOWMENT - Italian Culture and History of San Diego
To include the new resource center for San Diego’s Italian community, complete with event space, reference and media library, computer lab, language school, Italian Historical Society archives/Italian American historical center.

The first pictorial-history text of San Diego’s Italian community from its humble beginnings to present-day modernization.
San Diego’s Fishing Industry Book
A pictorial history of San Diego’s fishing industry and its impact on San Diego and the many ethnic communities that helped to raise it to prominence.
Italians of San Diego Documentary
A feature-length documentary film series to showcase San Diego’s Italian community through immigrant narratives (coming summer ’09).
